BLESSING TOTEMS
My Blessing Totems are a new body of work in clay that I began in 2018 and reflect my love of creating faces. The images that emerge are coming from my subconscious and inspired by Balinese and Mexican masks seen in my travels. They are meant to bring joy and protection and blessing to your home. I begin by pressing large slabs of clay into a plaster mold that I designed and cast, which has a large, round face, with a nose. The rest is added and sculpted on each one. Of course, these are one of a kind. They range in size from 10 to 12 inches wide and have built in hangers for your home or garden wall.
